Anjali Ravee | President

Major: Biology

Classification: Junior

Designation: Pre-Medical

Why I love MSO: I joined MSO the fall of my freshman year, unaware that I was about to meet the most wonderful people and have the best experiences whilst being able to cater to our Waco community.  It is not very often that you are able to be around a group of such genuine and inviting people as those within MSO.  If not for the friends and mentors I have met throughout my time in the club, I would not be the person I am today.

What I do: In my position as President, I serve alongside the officers to empower MSO members to lead both on and off Baylor’s campus.  While leading our bi-weekly general meetings, I also connect with the pre-health office and community at large to bring the best opportunities to our members.  If you ever see me around the BSB, don’t be shy!  I love meeting members, both current and past.

Favorite late night Starbucks or Common Grounds drink/snack: My late night go to drink is a No Bull from CG and pizookies from BJs.

I’m exceedingly proud to be a member of MSO, and I’m confident that you will be, too!

What I do: As VP of Administration, I am responsible for sending weekly correspondence, managing OrgSync, organizing meeting PowerPoints, and planning the end-of-semester banquet. I also support the endeavors of the President and my colleagues on the officer team.

Why I love MSO: Being involved in MSO has solidified my love for serving in my community. The connections I’ve made because of this organization are priceless and I’m so grateful to be involved!

What I do: Coordinate the volunteering at the FHC clinics, working to improve MSO’s presence in the local community. Additionally, I coordinate small events for general members, including brown bag lunches. This semester, I hope to improve an already fantastic program!

Designation: Pre-Medical

Why I love MSO: This organization offers its members the opportunity to serve the community while truly being part of a family that is working towards a greater cause. Instead of just attempting to enhance our medical school applications, we are passionate about serving those around us.

What I do: As the Social Chair, my responsibilities include organizing social events that bring members of our organization together. I also advertise our organizations meetings and keep apparel and accessories available for members. My responsibilities would be impossible without our social committee who assists with these activities. If you are interested in being a part of this, please contact me!

Favorite late night Starbucks or Common Grounds drink/snack: My go to late-night drink at CG would have to be The Meltdown, which is frozen cappuccino combined with four shots of Espresso. If I’m not mistaken, this drink contains the most amount of caffeine, which is perfect for finals season.

Why I love MSO: I love MSO because it is a community where people with similar goals get to do something that is not about themselves through serving the community around us. I have made some of my closest friends through MSO and it is an organization that does not point to all of our accomplishments but instead points to all of the organizations that are serving Waco.

What I do: My job, along with the other mission trip chair, is to organize and put together the mission trip which takes place over spring break each year. We brainstorm fundraising ideas, prepare the team and help keep the entire MSO organization stay updated on the trip before, during, and after it has taken place. We also help in choosing the location of the trip and getting the team ready to go in the months and week before spring break.
